Timothy J. Semro
Timothy J. Semro is an OSBA Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate law, and practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, and corporate law. Mr. Semro is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Michigan.
Mr. Semro’s practice emphasis is in preparing estate planning documents, developing estate plans, probate and estate administration, and business succession plans.
Mr. Semro has specific experience with sophisticated estate planning, including intentionally defective grantor trusts, family limited partnerships, generation-skipping trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and disclaimer trusts. He also prepares business succession plans and gifting programs.
Volunteering time to serve in the community, Tim has dedicated time on boards with the Lutheran Homes Society Foundation, Trinity Lutheran School Board, Trinity Lutheran Church Foundation, Sylvania Senior Center, has served as a liaison for the Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business to Alumni in Northwest Ohio, and is an alumnus of Leadership Toledo. Mr. Semro has also been a contributory author to the Northwest Ohio Hemophilia Foundation, Ohio State Bar Association, and the Probate Law Journal of Ohio.

Michael P. Henry
Michael P. Henry concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, estate and tax planning, as well as probate administrations.
Mr. Henry has been a frequent speaker at seminars and group meetings lecturing on topics including estate and tax planning, planned giving and business succession planning. Mr. Henry’s practice includes developing sophisticated estate plans, setting up and maintaining family partnerships and businesses, handling probate and estate administration matters, and representing taxpayers in Internal Revenue Service tax audits.
Mr. Henry is a 1994 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law and a 1998 graduate of Capital University Law School, where he received his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.). He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Toledo Bar Association.
Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Other boards and committees Mr. Henry has served on include:

Jonathan W. Brown graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law, where he served as President of the Criminal Justice Society.
Mr. Brown received his Bachelors of Arts in History and Political Science at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, after only three years.
Originally from Pickerington, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, Jonathan stayed in Toledo after law school graduation and opened his own successful practice, the Law Office of Jonathan W. Brown, in 2008, which merged with SHB Law Ltd in 2013.
Mr. Brown has been a contract attorney for the Juvenile Division of the Toledo Legal Aid Society for the past six years. He spends most of his time in the courtroom, defending criminal defendants or fighting for plaintiffs/defendants in civil litigation.
Licensed to practice in Ohio, Mr. Jonathan Brown has represented clients in all areas of Northwest Ohio and as far south as Hardin County.

Jeffrey M. Stopar
Jeffrey M. Stopar practices in the areas of civil litigation, real estate, zoning, local government and corporate law. He also has extensive experience in adversary proceedings before a variety of administrative agencies, including many local zoning boards, the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Appeals Board, the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. He has successfully argued before the Ohio Supreme Court as well as other appellate courts throughout Ohio. He is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in both Ohio and Indiana.
Mr. Stopar graduated cum laude from the University of Toledo College of Law and received a B.A. in Economics cum laude from the University of Akron.

James L. Rogers
James L. Rogers is an attorney and Of Counsel at Semro, Henry & Barga, Ltd. concentrating his practice in business advice, commercial litigation, copyright infringement, will contests, creditor’s rights, and business transactions. He has performed legal services for a variety of clients, including publicly traded corporations and foreign entities.
Mr. Rogers has experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, including at the appellate level. He has litigated cases in state courts, numerous United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts around the country, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Mr. Rogers has been active in community associations and spoken to professional groups on ethical issues facing attorneys, liability prevention, copyright infringement, and creditor’s rights. His community activities include service as a board member with the Aurora Project, Inc., Catholic Charities for the Toledo Diocese, Toledo Area Catholic Credit Union, the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Business at Bowling Green State University, and coaching a State Champion Travel League baseball team. He is also currently an Adjunct Instructor at Bowling Green State University, where he teaches an undergraduate business course and an MBA level course.
Mr. Rogers received his B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University in 1984, and he graduated with honors from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1987. He is currently licensed to practice in Ohio. He has attained a “preeminent AV rating” by the Martindale Hubbell rating service of attorneys nationwide..

John T. Barga
Mr. Barga’s primary practice areas include Business Organizations, Commercial and Real Estate Transactions and General Trial Practice.
Mr. Barga began his professional career in 1976 as the first full-time criminal prosecutor for the City of Tiffin, Ohio. His duties in that office included actively prosecuting traffic cases, criminal misdemeanors and felony preliminary hearings.

Kirk Ross concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, charitable giving and wealth management. In support of those areas, he also has considerable experience in corporate and business law, international trade law and fiduciary litigation. He began his legal practice at a large firm in Chicago, and then brought his practice (and his family) back to the Toledo area in 2005.
Kirk is a 2004 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2001 with a double-M.A. in History and German. He also graduated from Berry College in Georgia with a double-bachelor’s degree in History and Mathematics. He is admitted to the bar in Ohio, Illinois and Florida, and he is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.
In his free time, Kirk is a history podcast junkie and an avid reader. He is also an enthusiastic hiker and camper. He and his family are members of the St. Patrick – Providence Catholic parish in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
